Suffering from "Post-Congress Depression"?

You're not alone. It's true: There are many who look forward to Congress, and when it's over they feel a a little "postpartum" depression. So, here's a little "Congress fix" to help ease the suffering! On our Congress site you'll find updated photos from Youth Day, links to recorded workshops, take our online Congress survey, see the transcripts from the Cardinal's online chat sessions, new video segments, and more....

This will be our last Emailing until September when we will announce Congress 2009.

Pass along this Congress emailing or our link -- archive.recongress.org -- to share with friends and encourage them to sign up for these Congress Emailing updates.

If you do not care to receive future updates, you can find removal information at the bottom of this message.

CARDINAL CHAT TRANSCRIPTS

On Friday morning at Congress, Cardinal Roger Mahony conducted two online chat sessions from the Technology Innovation Center in the Exhibit Hall. First, in a private chat with 12 seventh- and eighth-grade students from Sacred Heart School in Covina, Calif. Then the Cardinal switched to an open, nationwide chat, hosted by ChurchWerks and moderated by Ellie Hidalgo of The Tidings. This was the Cardinal's 12th annual chat from Congress, and only his third on-site with a school.

LOST AND FOUND

Left something behind at Congress? Each year after our Religious Education Congress event there are a great many unclaimed items -- glasses, bags, books, jackets -- that end up in our Lost and Found.

Please contact the Congress Office with what you seem to be missing, and we'll see if it's among our Lost and Found items. You can find contact information online on our Lost and Found page.

VIDEO Q&A WITH THE CARDINAL

On Youth Day, students could ask the Cardinal some personal questions -- via video. Cardinal Roger Mahony recorded his answers on Friday at Congress. And MyCatholicVoice has put it all together -- and more. Some of the questions posed:

  * What is a Cardinal? What is the hardest part of being a Cardinal?
  * Were you religious in high school?
  * How do you deal with the vow of celibacy?
  * Why can't women be priests?

These questions and others appear on the 2008 Los Angeles Religious Education Congress Highlights Community on MyCatholicVoice.com. Off the Community Home Page you can listen to a special message from Sr. Edith Prendergast, hear what others thought were the best parts of this year's event or post your own comments, view a Tech Center "Ministry Minute" or download some of Congress's great music -- and much, much more.
