CARDINAL CHAT

On Friday morning, February 29, 2008, Los Angeles Cardinal Roger Mahony will conduct two online chat sessions from the main Exhibit Hall at the Religious Education Congress in Anaheim, Calif. The first, a private chat session, will be with students from Sacred Heart School in Covina. He will then follow up in a nationwide chat, which will be the Cardinal's 12th annual online appearance live from Congress!

 • Join us at the Technology Innovation Center on Friday at 10:30 a.m.
 • Go online Friday, Feb. 29 at 11 a.m. and join in the chat session.
 • Ask the Cardinal a question ...now! After a private online chat session with school students, the Cardinal will conduct a nationwide chat -- and YOU can take part. Have a question for the Cardinal? Ask your question now and watch it be submitted during the chat session.

CATHOLIC FILMMAKERS' SHOWCASE

Take a break at Congress and have a night (or two) at the movies. Our returning Catholic Filmmakers' Showcase features inspiring, challenging, heartfelt and faith-filled films. It is scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights from 8 to 10 p.m. in the Hilton Hotel's Pacific Ballroom.

On Friday night the feature-length documentary "Champions of Faith" will be shown. In the film, baseball stars Mike Piazza, David Eckstein and others reveal how their faith guides and sustains their spectacular careers.

Film clips screened include: "Fr. G and the Homeboys," the story of Jesuit Fr. Greg Boyle's work with Los Angeles gang members; "The Invisible Chapel," a story of faith and perseverance pitted against fear and the heated immigration debate; and "Dorothy Day: Don't Call Me a Saint." Other films are provided by Maryknoll Productions, Paulist Productions, Family Theater, Hope Media Productions, the San Damiano Foundation, Mud Puddle Films,  and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
