Join members of the Catholic Coalition on Climate Change in taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint, care for "the least of these" (Mt 25) and raise our voice on behalf of Creation and the poor. Explore stories and images of our world’s most vulnerable people who experience the greatest impact from climate change, but who contribute the least to the problem. Discover inspiring and prayerful responses to climate change, including the St. Francis Pledge to Care for Creation and the Poor.

YOUR OLD CELL CAN HELP HAITI

Bring your old cell phones – working or not – with you to Congress. This year we are partnering with GetGreenToGetGreen.com, an organization that recycles cell phones. Get Green To Get Green is committed to keep our planet green by reusing or recycling unused cell phones. The proceeds generated from this partnership will be donated to the Haiti relief efforts through CRS. More than 130 million cell phones are thrown away every year. Don’t throw away electronics that should be recycled. Do your part to recycle your old cell phone – and help Haiti in the process.

This day-long event for high school youth is an opportunity for students – from throughout the western states – to come together and share in Liturgy, workshops, entertainment and experience the energy of the Closing Rally.

Join us Friday morning as Los Angeles Cardinal Roger Mahony conducts a live online chat session, first with school children from St. John Chrysostom School in Inglewood, and then in a nationwide chat session. This is the Cardinal’s 14th annual online appearance.

BUSTED HALO B SHOWCASE 2010
Friday & Saturday – Convention Hall A
Fr. Dave Dwyer makes a return visit to Congress on Friday and Saturday, March 19 & 20, The Busted Halo Show will be on location at the 2010 Los Angeles Religious Education Congress .The show airs Monday through Friday, from 7 pm to 10 pm Eastern time on Satellite Radio (Sirius Channel 159, XM Channel 117). Saturday’s show will be rebroadcast on Monday.

FILM SHOWCASE 2010
Friday, 8 -10 pm – Convention 201
This year’s Film Showcase, in partnership with Loyola Marymount University, presents excerpts from a number of narrative feature films, shorts, documentaries, experimental and animated films, whose thematic elements are grounded in Catholic social teaching, justice, ministry, spirituality and theology. Filmmakers will be present to meet with audience members.

AN EVENING OF POETRY WITH DAVID WHYTE
Friday, 8 pm – Convention 207
Join poet David Whyte for a journey through the poetic tradition, looking at the thresholds human beings have always had to cross to live a larger, richer, more courageous and more generous life, no matter the outward circumstances.

THE LIFE & TIMES OF BISHOP OSCAR ROMERO

Velada conmemorativa en honor al legado de Mons. Oscar Romero: Presentación multimedia sobre la vida y legado de fe de Mons. Romero en su 30 aniversario del gozo de su resurrección en el pueblo de Dios.

SACRED ILLUMINATIONS
Saturday, 8 - 9 pm – Convention 213
Returning to Congress 2010 is Sacred Illuminations, a mystical choreography of light and sound. Incorporating her newest liturgical and fine art photography and reflections, Sr. Rose Marie Tulacz, SND, will bring the Incredible Adundance of the sacred, the stillness, the formless, the divine, to our humanity. Come reflect and pray.

SATURDAY KEYNOTE: MITCH ALBOM
Saturday, 8:30 am – Convention Arena
"Have a Little Faith" – Through story and testimony we will delight in God’s incredible and abundant gift of faith. This keynote presentation will relate how the faith of one man was reawakened, and his eyes opened to both the power of belief and the quiet, inspiring lives that men and women of God lead everyday.

SACRED SPACE
Friday through Sunday – Convention 304
Sacred Space returns once again to its home on the third level of the Convention Center, with extended hours on Saturday. Take a respite from the day’s events and enter a space dedicated to facilitating a sense of spiritual rejuvenation. Our Sacred Space will offer Eucharistic Adoration in the Chapel, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, a labyrinth (pictured), art and meditative music.

SELF-CARE THROUGH MOVEMENT
Friday through Sunday (Check Times) – Marriott Los Angeles/La Jolla
Our faith calls us to care for God’s creation – that includes our own bodies! Join Susan Searle in the Marriott’s lower level rooms each day as she leads us in some quieting and light movement to help us connect to God’s presence in our lives.
