Congress as well as listing all events, speakers
and workshop descriptions, travel information
and hotel properties, and registration
information and the Registration Form. If you

allow two weeks for delivery. Have an online connection? You don't have to
wait for your book to arrive to start selecting
your workshops. The Registration Guidebook is

Youth Day -- Thursday, February 28, 2008
-- is specifically for those in grades 9 through
12.
Youth Day is a separate registration from
Congress, and there is no online registration
for Youth Day. Youth Day information can be
found
online at
archive.recongress.org/YD, where you may also
download the Youth Day Registration Form or the
complete
Youth Day section of the Guidebook.
Want to "guarantee" getting your first choices of
Congress workshops? Register online now.
Workshops are not actually assigned to a room
location until we get the first 5,000 registrants.
At that point, we run a projection of attendance and
assign the most popular workshops to the Arena and
the larger rooms. So, generally speaking, the first
5,000 registrants are "guaranteed" their first
choices.
Make sure
you're among those first 5,000 by registering online
this month. When you register online you will
receive immediate email confirmation of your payment
(only if you supply an email address). And once your
workshop registration has been processed (usually
within a week or two of submission), you will
receive an email confirmation with your RECongress
Registration number. This is a benefit of online
registration; mailed-in registrations do not receive
email confirmations. (Tickets will be mailed out
beginning January 31, 2008.)
To register online: First, choose your workshops
(either from the Guidebook or our online page
listing found at
archive.recongress.org/2008nav.htm); then pay online
by credit card and indicate your workshop choices
and ticket mailing address.
Get registration information or register by credit
card online at

The Office of Religious Education has
established an Endowment Fund to
support the on-going training and formation
of religious education leaders by making
scholarships available to them to pursue
graduate studies. It is our hope that every
Director of Religious Education will be
given the opportunity receive a master's
degree in Religious Education/ Religious
Studies. Those who contribute to this fund
will be listed in the Congress Program Book
as Benefactor, Donor, Sponsor or Friend. In
addition, the portion contributed to the
fund is tax deductible.
Online registration is the ONLY way to pay
by credit card, and giving to the Endowment
Fund is easy that way -- online at
archive.recongress.org/register.htm
Most Congress attendees stay in the surrounding
area hotels. We have contracted with 31 hotels
that offer special rates for Congress attendees.
We suggest making hotel reservations as soon as
possible. Note: Four of these hotels have
already sold out of their special rates (though
some may have rooms available at higher,
non-Congress rates). When making reservations,
be sure to ask for the Religious Education
Congress rate.
Our Hotel Properties page includes a new,
interactive online Hotel Properties Map, hotel
listings and an Anaheim area map, information
about ART (the Anaheim Resort Transit system)
and a list of hotels with ART stops, and how to
order ART tickets online. All this can be found
at
archive.recongress.org/hotels
FOR THOSE NEEDING ASSISTANCE |
The Religious Education Congress Committee wants
everyone to enjoy their Congress experience.
If you need an attendant to accompany you at
Congress, we ask that only one attendant
accompany you to workshops and other Congress
events. It is important to mail your
registration – along with your attendant’s – in
the same envelope with a note explaining that
both need to be registered in the same
workshops. It is essential that you register by
January 5, 2008.
NOTE: The Convention Center does not provide
wheelchairs.
Because the distances between the Convention
Center and surrounding hotels are quite
large, the Convention Center has a free shuttle
service to Convention Center buildings However,
if you would prefer to be scheduled for
Arena-only or Convention Center-only workshops,
please include a note with your registration
card.
Congress also offers interpreters and Assistive
Listening Devices (ALDs) to deaf and hard of
hearing persons. Our Closing Liturgy on Sunday
will be interpreted with special seating for all
deaf community members. You can find additional
information and a special request form in the
Registration Guidebook to be submitted along
with your registration.
Congress could not function without the
hundreds of volunteers who generously give
of their time. If you have attended Congress
in the past and would like to find out more
about becoming a volunteer for our next
Religious Education Congress, please
consider this your "personal" invitation. We
have a need for Workshop Volunteers (both
English and Spanish), Eucharist Ministers
for Arena events (Opening Event and the two
Closing Liturgies), and musicians for the
Congress Choir.
You can find specifics about volunteering for
Congress 2008 online at
Congress attendees may again pre-order specially
priced one-day and multi-day tickets for
admission to Disneyland or Disney California Adventure. Note: These tickets are not all
