Participate in a special way at Youth Day --
Thursday, February 28, 2008. An invitation to
those in high school and to those who would like
to attend Youth Day:
AS A YOUTH EMCEE -- Are you or someone you know
in high school (grade 9 through 12)? Are you
registered for Youth Day 2008 with a school or
parish? Do you like performing in front of large
crowds? Can you arrive at Youth Day in Anaheim
by 8:30 a.m. and can you attend a REQUIRED
training day or other rehearsals if needed? If
you answered YES to all of these, consider being
an EMCEE at YOUTH DAY 2008! (Contact us by
Friday, January 4, 2008.)
AS A SINGER OR INSTRUMENTALIST -- To be part of
the Youth Day 2008 Arena Music Ministry you
must: Be a high school youth (grade 9-12); have
experience singing or playing at your parish or
school; be willing to make all required
rehearsals; be registered with your parish or
school for Youth Day. (Contact us by Friday,
January 4, 2008.)
AS AN ADULT CREW MEMBER --
Youth Day 2008 is looking for adult volunteers
to be part of the
Moving Crew for Youth Day. You must: be at least
21 years of age; not be a Chaperone of a group
that day; be able to be in Anaheim on Youth Day
by 7:30 a.m.and
volunteer for the ENTIRE day; and have the
the skills for directing youth and able to
handle crowd control. It's a great way to be
part of the experience without being a
Chaperone! (Note: ALL Moving Crew Members must
be fingerprinted by the Archdiocese and have
been through the Protecting God’s Children adult
training program.)
The Catholic Filmmakers' Showcase will return
again to the Religious Education Congress. The
Showcase presents films, both documentary and
fiction, that highlight the work of Catholic
producers and directors from around the United
States. This year's films focus on faith,
spirituality and social justice. Come and relax
after a long day at Congress and enjoy or be
challenged by inspiring, entertaining and touching
films. Different films will be shown on Friday and
Saturday nights, scheduled from 8 to 10:30 p.m.
Congress could not function without the
hundreds of volunteers who generously
give of their time. If you have attended
Congress in the past and would like to find
out more about becoming a volunteer for
Congress 2008, please consider this your
"personal" invitation. We have a need for
Workshop Volunteers (both English and
Spanish), Eucharist Ministers for Arena
events (Opening Event and the two Closing
Liturgies), and musicians for the Congress
Choir.

Congress 2008 online at
