I invite you to partake in the experience of Congress 2004. Each year we are delighted to welcome back familiar faces, persons who commit themselves to serve the catechetical and pastoral needs of their communities. At the same time, we are blessed by the presence and participation of new delegates and trust that the weekend will be a time of renewal and support for all.
The theme chosen “Steeped in Mercy, Balm for the World" (Inmersos en Misericordia, Bálsamo Para el Mundo) gives witness to God’s extravagant and all embracing love. Steeped in mercy and strengthened by God’s compassionate presence, we confidently stretch out to soothe the anguish and gentle the pain of the world.
The variety of insightful and challenging workshops, in-services and multicultural liturgical celebrations and entertainment offered throughout the weekend, uplift spirits, and provide invaluable resources for the on-going implementation of our Archdiocesan Synod. In the spirit of our bold Initiatives, Priorities and Strategies, we press forward to give witness to the Reign of God in new and creative ways.
Thank you for you leadership and your commitment to proclaiming the presence and power of God in the world. You are a blessing to many. I look forward to greeting you at this wonderful annual gathering.
