The Registration Guidebooks
have been mailed (please allow 10 days for delivery). The
Guidebook is your key to all events and to choosing
workshops for Congress. It provides a daily schedule of
entertainment and events.
There are two ways to get a Guidebook -- read it online or
have one mailed to you. (Note: Those who attended Congress
2008 will automatically receive their Guidebook by mail.)
ONLINE
The complete Registration Guidebook is available online --

PDF -- You can download the complete Guidebook or smaller
(more managable) sections at our

iPAPER -- You can view the Guidebook online -- without
downloading anything -- using our new iPaper version. You

those who attended Congress 2008 will automatically receive
a Guidebook by mail.) Order your copy online on our

DATES The 2009 Los Angeles Religious Education Congress dates
are: • February 26, 2009 (Youth Day) • February 27 - March 1, 2009 (Congress days)
LOCATION Congress is held at the Anaheim Convention Center,
located at 800 West Katella Ave. in Anaheim, Calif.
(just across from Disneyland and Disney’s California
Adventure).
FEE The registration fee for Congress is $60. ($70 after
January 5, 2009 deadline.)

BY MAIL: • Order your
Registration Guidebook (NOTE: Those who registered
last year will automatically receive their Guidebook in early
November.) • Choose your sessions (first and second workshop
choices). • Mail in the Registration Form with payment ($60 by
January 5, 2009).
All tickets will be mailed after February 5, 2009.
NOTE TO PARISHES: We also have blank registration
cards for parishes sending multiple catechist
registrations. Additional Registration Guidebooks
and cards can be requested at

YOUTH
DAY THEME ANNOUNCED! |
The theme for Youth Day 2009 has been announced: "Step
Up to Life." You can read about how the Youth Day
Coordinating Team arrived at the theme on the Youth Day
page at
archive.recongress.org/YD.
Our Youth Day, held Thursday, February 26, 2009, is
geared specifically for those in the 9th-12th grades.
The registration fee for Youth Day 2009 is $20 per
person ($25 per person after January 5, 2009).

YOUTH WANTED!
Know a youth who might like to be an MC at Youth Day?
Know someone who loves to sing or play an instrument? We
are looking for Emcees to introduce speakers for Youth
Day and also musicians to sing and play for the Arena
Liturgy.
To be MC or musician at Youth Day 2009 you must: • Be a high school youth (grade 9-12) • Be willing to make all required rehearsals • Be willing to take full part in Youth Day 2009 • Be registered with your parish or school for Youth

Most of our Congress delegates stay in the surrounding area
hotels. We have contracted with 33 hotels that will offer
special rates for Congress attendees. We suggest making
hotel reservations as soon as possible. A few hotels have
already sold out of their Congress rates (though they might
have rooms available at higher rates). When making
reservations, you must ask for the Religious Education
Congress rate.
