What is Congress?
The Religious Education Congress is the nation's largest annual gathering of Roman Catholics! Our last RECongress, held in February, brought together nearly 40,000 people during the four-day weekend! We had registrants from across the country and as far away as Ireland and Australia.

RECongress 2017 Logo

See what artist Valerie MacRae had to say about creating the logo for the 2017 Los Angeles Religious  Education Congress logo. In part: "The logo began as a painting of green fields, wild flowers and birds in a tranquil palette. The image was then 'broken apart' into shapes that echo the circular gesture of embracing. ... Let us 'Embrace Trust' "! Find her complete reflection at archive.recongress.org/retheme.htm

A Look Back — RECongress 2007
NEW! – CATHOLIC FILMMAKERS’ SHOWCASE
Friday & Saturday, 8-10 pm
A new event at Congress 2007 is the Catholic Filmmakers' Showcase, which features two nights of screenings. Fr. Ron Schmidt, SJ is Master of Ceremonies for the event. Producers and directors are on hand to meet with audience members after the screenings. This is a chance to see what’s being done by some of Hollywood’s Catholic faith community.

FROM THE YOUTH DAY COORDINATOR
Mike Norman, Youth Day Coordinator, announces the Youth Day 2007 theme, "LOL - Live Out Love." Youth Day is a perfect place for young people and adults alike to stand up and be affirmed in how they Live Out Love. The readings for the day are Esther 12:14-16, 23-25 and Matthew 7:7-12. These words give us the foundation for our theme and our exciting day!

SACRED SPACE
In 2007 -- returning for its fourth year -- Sacred Space provides a respite from the day’s events; enter a space dedicated to facilitating a sense of peaceful reflection and spiritual rejuvenation. Our Sacred Space offers Eucharistic Adoration in the Chapel, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, a labyrinth, and meditative music and inspirational art, and a new home -- moving from Hall E to the third level of the Convention Center.
