LIVE OUT LOVE at Youth Day 2007
In just a little over 24 hours (at the time of writing this email) YOUTH DAY 2007 will have begun. Our team is praying for all of you that will be bring young people. We would also like to say thanks to the incredible team of adults and youth that have made this day possible. Without the wonderful support of our Youth Day Coordinating Team and other committees this day would not be possible. We look forward to seeing you there. Remember to LIVE OUT LOVE! (Don’t forget to check out the theme song on iTunes – just do a search for Curtis Stephan and you can hear the theme song!)
Catholic Relief Services at Youth Day
Catholic Relief Services invites your help at Youth Day. They will have a table in the Grand Lobby (outside of the Arena) and are asking for young people to come by and sign a peace petition as a way to Live Out Love for God’s people in Sudan. They will also have Fair Trade chocolate for sale and free Fair Trade chocolate samples and a One Human Family bracelet to say thanks for supporting peace and justice in the world. Come by to sign the petition and to meet Thomas Awiapo, with CRS from Ghana. A time for the world to hear the voices of young people!

Youth Day Tickets
As of today, Friday, February 09, 2007, all tickets for Youth Day will have been mailed out. If you have not received your tickets yet, please know that they are in the mail and will reach you next week. We have a long WAITING LIST for tickets. If you have extras please contact me ASAP so we can try to get some of this list into our great day. If you happen to be one of the groups on the waiting list you might want to continue contacting parishes/schools around you to try and get extra tickets directly from them. Thank you all for supporting this great day!
Charter/School Bus for Youth Day
We have been informed by the California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) that they have observed some unlicensed charter/school buses transporting young people to Youth Day. This means these companies are not in compliance with safety and insurance regulations required by the PUC. They have requested that we notify Youth Day contacts about this issue and ask you to either 1. review the website www.cpuc.ca.gov and confirm that the charter/school bus you are using is licensed or 2. call the PUC office at 1-800-877-8867 to confirm they are licensed. They have a list of companies that are operating illegally and do not have the required charter. Please feel free to call the PUC office with any questions.
Youth Day Moving CrewWe are still looking for adults who are NOT chaperoning any group of young people to be part of the Youth Day Moving Crew. This is a great way for an adult to experience Youth Day and help out at the same time. We are looking for youth-friendly adults to be a “host” at Youth Day and help groups find their workshop rooms, do crowd control, and be a hospitality minister to those attending. If you (or someone you know) could join us for our great day please have them call Mike Norman at (213) 637-7674. Thanks for supporting the Moving Crew!
Youth Day Theme Song
Curtis Stephan, one of the artists performing at Youth Day 2007, has written a great theme song for Youth Day. The song is entitled “Live Out Love.” How convenient since that is our theme! Within the next 10 days the final version of the song should be available for purchase on I-TUNES! A first for Youth Day! So, check out I-Tunes starting around next Friday and download the song for use as you prepare your young people for Youth Day. We thank Curtis tremendously for creating this song for our great day!
See you at Youth Day 2007! Get ready to LIVE OUT LOVE!
